Carnapping and more

CEBU, Philippines - When the police checked with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), it was learned that the motorcycle with plate number GI-9773 was owned by Irene Ballena Garcia of Liloan town.

Digal said that Garcia informed them that the motorcycle was used by her brother Raul, who was shot dead in their town in 2008.

The police will press charges for the violation of the Anti-Carnapping Law against Ardita.

They will also look into any probable role of Ardita in the death of Raul Ballena.

Digal also said that Ardita has been identified as the one who drove the motorcycle that was used as getaway vehicle of the late Michel Favila Sr., who was charged for the killing of lawyer Arbeth Santa Ana Yongco.

In fact, Ardita was made a state witness in that case.

Favila has recently died due to sickness while he was an inmate of the Cebu City Jail.

Yongco was one of the private prosecutors in the case against Ruben Ecleo, Jr., now congressman of the lone district of Dinagat, who is facing charges of parricide for the death of his wife Alona Bacolod-Ecleo.

Ardita also has a standing warrant of arrest of murder. SPO2 Delfin Bontuyan of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) informed Digal through a text message about it. (THE FREEMAN)
