CEBU, Philippines - A member of the Barangay Intelligence Network died after he was hit by a car driven by a 20-year-old French national in the mountain barangay of Busay in Cebu City at 5:30 am yesterday.
Arnold Amor, 28, a resident of Compostela town died on the spot when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a Honda CRV Wagon bearing the plate number ING-888 driven by Dean Taylor Pasquet.
Investigation showed that Pasquet was on his way home to Lower Busay from the Mactan Cebu International Airport when the accident occurred about 100 meters from his residence.
He was maneuvering an uphill curve when he collided head on with the Yamaha motorcycle with plate number GL-9408 driven by Amor.
The front of the motorcycle was badly damaged while the portion of the car also sustained some damage.
Amor died on the spot due to severe head injuries while the woman riding in pillion, Fernandita Bacalla, 46, incurred bruises.

Pasquet turned himself over voluntarily to the Busay barangay hall. Before he was turned over to the Traffic Division of the city police, he was made to undergo an alcohol test for which he tested negative.
SPO4 Ronilo Ermac of the Traffic Division said Pasquet was released later yesterday afternoon after it was settled that suspect will be the one to shoulder the hospital and funeral expenses of the fatality.
Ermac said Amor’s family decided to settle the matter amicably after they learned that Amor had driven to Pasquet’s lane eventually ramming into Pasquet’s car.
