Man arrested with 20 packs of "shabu"

CEBU, Philippines - A 41-year-old man was arrested for possession of crystalline substance believed to be shabu by the elements of the Criminal Intelligence Branch (CIB) Thursday evening at Sitio Micabaja, Barangay Duljo- Fatima.

Allan Aguilar, single and a resident of that area, was caught by CIB officers led by their deputy chief, Police Inspector Jul Mohammad Jamiri, at around 9:30 Thursday evening.

Twenty pieces of plastic packs with white crystalline substance believed to be shabu was recovered from him.

Aguilar was arrested in a foot patrol conducted by the CIB at interior portion of Sitio Micabaja, Barangay Duljo-Fatima.

Jamiri said that they saw Aguilar standing on the roadside counting some money. When they were already close to Aguilar, Aguilar was startled so a plastic bag slipped from his hand.

So the police got the plastic bag, sensing that Aguilar was reacting suspiciously to their presence.

The confiscated items were submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory 7 for a laboratory examination.

Aguilar is presently detained at the Cebu City Police Office Detention Cell while criminal charges are being prepared against him for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — THE FREEMAN
