In Consolacion, a body of a dead man was found at Sitio Laray, Barangay Pitogo, last Thursday morning.

Monico Caroana Silvano, 26, delivery boy and living in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City was found dead by one Belino Puno.

Investigation revealed that Silvano’s body had two gunshot wounds on his head.

SPO2 Arnold Omaña of the Consolacion Police Station told The FREEMAN that Silvano was last seen at around 2 p.m. that day. He was delivering some spices at the Consolacion Public Market and then went to his uncle’s house in Laray.

Silvano had a drink with his uncle Vergilio Amaba, afterwhich he also went for a drink at Belino’s house.

When they got drunk, Silvano went outside Belino’s house to sleep at a hammock.

Witnesses told the police that at around 11:00 p.m., they heard three bursts of gunfire but no one dared to check what it was.

The next morning, Belino found Silvano outside their house lying facedown with two gunshot wounds on his head. Belino immediately asked his daughter to report the incident to the police station.

SPO2 Omaña said that one of the possible motives of the said killing was revenge.

“Ingon sa ubang saksi nga tungod sa kahubog iya kuno gibastos ang mga babaye nga naa sa ila dapit. Pag-human iya sad gihasi ang mga sikad driver apan wala lang nila patuli kay hubog man,” Omaña added. — THE FREEMAN
