Man kills neighbor over unpaid debt
CEBU, Philippines - A man killed his neighbor last Friday afternoon in sitio Ihawan in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City for failing to settle his debt.
Killed was Arnel Arnilla, 29. His assailant Kim Judilla, 24, single, had demanded payment for his debt amounting to P3,000 before shooting Arnilla to death.
PO2 Arthur Cuyos of the Mandaue City Police station 1 said that when Arnilla told Judilla he couldn’t pay yet what he owed him, Judilla pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and shot Arnilla many times.
Judilla fled after the shooting. Arnilla sustained gunshot wounds on the abdomen and on both shoulders.
Arnilla’s live-in partner Michelle, who witnessed the shooting, was also wounded.
Police found five empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol and another deformed slug from the crime scene.
Arnilla was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital but was later transferred to Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he died several hours after.
