CEBU, Philippines - A fifty-year-old woman who works as a cook in one of the motels at the Reclamation Area is now in critical condition after she was hit in the nape by a stray bullet fired during a gang war last Monday evening in sitio Aroma, Mandaue City.
Marlene Molina, 50, a cook for Moonlight Motel was on her way home in barangay Mambaling,Cebu City on board a passenger jeep when a gang war between fraternities Alpha Kappa Rho and Bloods erupted in sitio Aroma.
Molina was immediately taken to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center by the driver of the passenger jeepney.
The police in barangay Subangdaku only learned about the incident when Allan Genobayong, a driver of a multicab, reported about his windshield getting hit by a bullet.
Police moved quickly and arrested suspects Justin Baro, 18, Ian Naraja,18, and Jonjie Sanchez, 18, and a 17-year-old.
Police said it was the second time Sanchez was arrested by the police in Subangdaku. He was previously arrested for possession of a gun.
The gun used in the shooting was not recovered.
The suspects are detained at the Subangdaku Police station pending the filing of charges against them. (FREEMAN NEWS)
