- Garry B. Lao -

CEBU, Philippines - A rookie policeman who left his motorcycle for almost an hour in the police outpost under the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday found his service firearm and other valuables missing when he came back for it.

PO1 Eric Espinosa, 30, a resident of barangay Looc, lost his .9mm firearm, a cellphone, and other valuables missing in the “u-box” compartment of his motorcycle.

The policeman will likely be investigated.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy was shot by still unidentified gang members along Mantwi Street, barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City the other day.

Initial investigation conducted by PO1 Maximo Villagonzalo showed that Raniel Gallarde was alone in the street when gang members approached and shot him.

He sustained a gunshot wound on the stomach and was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital. – THE FREEMAN
