Mandaue opposition councilors take oath of office before Revilla
CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City opposition councilors yesterday took their oath of office before Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. at the Makati Sports Club in Manila.
Opposition councilors Emmarie Dolores “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon and Editha Cabahug flew to Manila since Senator Revilla is busy and could not come to Cebu to administer the oathtaking.
Ouano-Dizon is the daughter of Cebu sixth district Provincial Board Member-elect and former Mandaue City mayor Thadeo Ouano and granddaughter of former Mandaue City mayor Alfredo “Pedong” Ouano.
“We took our oath before Senator Revilla because he is very close to our family,” said Ouano-Dizon in an interview with The Freeman.
Ouano-Dizon said his husband, Nixon “Jojo” Dizon has been helping Revilla’s campaign here in Cebu since 2004.
Revilla emerged number one in Cebu in the senatorial race in 2004 and second in the recent May 10, 2010 elections.
Cabahug, on the other hand, is the husband of former city councilor Raul “Boy Pokang” Cabahug.
Cabahug is now on her third term as city councilor while this is the first time for Ouano-Dizon to join politics although working in government is not new to her as she has been the confidential secretary of his father for the past nine years at the City Hall. – THE FREEMAN
