CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Bankers Club (CBC) initiated a specialized training for security guards assigned at the banks and those who travel with armored vehicles.
The training was launched last May 29 and is duly accredited by the Security Agency Guards Supervision Division (SAGSD).
Danilo Rodis, a certified security professional and current president of Cebu Bankers Armored and Security Providers Associations (CEBASPA) issued a letter of authority to conduct the training, the certificate of which can be used in the renewal of a security guard’s license.
Rodis is also the training director of the Lapu-Lapu Security Training Academy, Inc. They tapped Chief Supt. Danilo Gaoiran, who graced the opening ceremony as guest of honor and speaker.
Gaoiran was accompanied by his deputy, Sr. Supt. Ferdinand Santos and the chief Training Management Branch, Sr. Supt. Antonio Taylan, Jr. Also present were the incoming president of the CBC, Chito Cabaero and the former president of the organization, Sozimo Lim.
The managers of the different security agencies sent their guards for the specialized training.
The CBC claimed that many security guards wanted to join the training but were turned down because they are not assigned or working with a bank, and they have no endorsement from a security agency.
Members of the Guardian Aces, Dasia, JAS, Depensa, RJC, Philmusa and Lau-Lapu Security Services availed of the training. — THE FREEMAN
