Another taxi driver robbed
CEBU, Philippines - A taxi driver was robbed by two juveniles who boarded his taxi yesterday dawn along Batiller Street in barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.
Judy Montesclaros, 40, married and a resident of sitio Liong in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, who drives for A.C Taxi, lost P1,750 to the robbers.
Monteslaros who reported the incident to the Opao police station 5 said that both minors boarded his taxi along the M.C Briones national highway and was told to bring them to barangay Umapad.
However upon arriving at a dimly lighted place along Batiller Street, one of the suspects who was seated beside the driver pulled out a gun and announced a holdup.
Montesclaros, fearing for his life, handed over his earnings.
Monteclaros said that instead of running after the robbers, he decided to seek assistance from the police, which immediately tried but failed to arrest them.
Opao deputy chief P/Insp. Wilson Abot suspect that the robbers are residents of the area. (FREEMAN NEWS)
