Cabbie awarded for helping arrest snatchers

CEBU, Philippines - A taxi driver was recently awarded by the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) for helping them arrest two suspected snatchers along General Maxilom Avenue, Barangay Hipodromo, Cebu City two weeks ago.

Eliseo Duazo, Jr., driver of Four D’s Taxi, was given a certificate of commendation by the police for cooperating with them in the immediate arrest of John Rey Rapales and Walter Nipes.

The two were accused of snatching the handbag of Cynthia Sandiego last May 15, at 1 a.m.

“Your deepest concern for a peaceful community is indeed worthy of emulation by your peers,” stated the certificate commendation.

Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, Director of the CCPO, said that this office has been giving commendations to taxi drivers, barangay tanods and others who are instrumental in maintaining the peace and order of the city.

Comendador hopes that other drivers will follow what Duazo has done.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
