Minglanilla couple nabbed for shabu

- Lesley Caminade-Vestil -

CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Special Operative Group (RSOG) arrested a man and his common law wife for allegedly selling shabu in their house in Abarquez St. Barangay Calajo-an, Minglanilla, Cebu last Friday afternoon.

Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 16 Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. issued the search warrant for Erinie Eugenia, 31, and her live-in partner Rimond Jayme Tabligan, 22.

PO1 Ariel Llanes told The Freeman that someone called their office to inform them about the illegal activities of the two. They then conducted a surveillance on the two, which confirmed the information.

Operatives of RSOG conducted a test buy last June 1 at the house of the live-in partners through their asset, who bought a small pack of what appeared to be shabu. They had this examined at the crime laboratory, and the test turned out positive.

They then applied for a search warrant and at around 4 p.m. last Friday, recovered 14 small packs containing white crystalline powder believed to be shabu and some paraphernalia.

PO1 Llanes said they gathered from their informant that Eugenia has since been a drug user. The police are also verifying the information that the house that the two suspects were using was also being used as a drug den.

The two, however, denied that they own the shabu. They also said it’s not true that they are into the illegal drug trade.

Both suspects are scheduled to undergo drug testing and the police will file a case for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.  (FREEMAN NEWS)
