Ex-mayor's son denies involvement in drugs

CEBU, Philippines - Fritz Louise Wagas, son of former Compostela Mayor Gilbert Wagas and nephew of incumbent Mayor Ritchie Wagas denied the accusation that he and his friend was caught in the act of sniffing shabu.

In a phone interview, Fritz said that his friend Joseph Villarta asked him to accompany him to the house of Edzel Labador Juntilla with the intention of buying a cellular phone.

When they arrive at Juntilla’s house in Barangay Looc, Danao City, the younger Wagas said they caught Juntilla sleeping without his shirt on and with all the shabu paraphernalia on the floor.

Fritz added that he was just standing outside the house with Villarta when seconds later the police arrived.With no apparent reason, he alleged the police grabbed them and brought them to the police station and accused them of being caught in the act of sniffing shabu.

However, when called by The FREEMAN to comment, PO3 Bryan Batiquin of Danao City Police Station said they will stick to their given reports.

The three accused were charge for violating Section 12 of Republic Act 9165, also known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Fritz Louise and Joseph paid P20, 000 each for their temporary liberty, while Juntilla remains in jail for failing to pay the same amount. (FREEMAN NEWS)
