Scavenger found dead

CEBU, Philippines - A decomposing body of an unidentified man was found inside a shanty at Soriano Ave. at the North Reclamation area last Sunday morning.

PO2 Marino Lofranco of the Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) of the Mandaue City Police Office yesterday said the police learned about the dead person from a caller who identified himself as "Tata."

Lofranco said residents in the area could no longer bear the stench prompting them to look for the source.

Neighbors said the dead man was a scavenger but could not establish his real identity because he would not speak to his neighbors.  The body was taken to the Cosmopolitan funeral homes in barangay Ibabao, Mandaue City for autopsy.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
