- Jasmin U. Labaco -

CEBU, Philippines - First district Rep. Eduardo Gullas is confident that the candidates under his Alayon Party will come out victorious in today’s election after a survey conducted by the Expanded Tertiary Education and Equivalency and Accreditation Program last month showed that they are winning.

Gullas who heads the Alayon Party presented yesterday the results of the survey conducted by Dr.Carmen Eturma, director of research planning and development of the ETEEAP.

The survey conducted from April 10 to May 4 showed that 25,000 out of the 103,000 registered voters in Talisay City are voting for Alayon candidates.

Alayon candidates in Talisay City include incumbent Mayor Socrates Fernandez, Vice Mayor Alan Bucao and Eduardo Gullas III, Richard Francis Aznar, Edward Alesna, Dennis Basillote, Semi Cabuenas, Rodolfo Cabigas, Aaron Capala, Bernard Odilao, Osmundo Manreal and Valeriano Ylanan for councilors.

There were 22 barangays surveyed and around 25,465 respondents. Gullas said he expect a landslide victory of all Alayon candidates today.

“I am 90 percent confident on that. I have used this survey when I ran for Talisay City Mayor in 2001 and Congressman in the first district,” Gullas said.

Fernandez got 73.06 percent of the votes against his opponents Raul Bacaltos and Ruperto Abapo.

For vice mayor, Bucao got 58.97 percent ahead of his opponent, Aberdovey Belleza who only got 39.45 percent.
