Jailed Korean commits suicide

CEBU, Philippines -  A Korean national was found dead inside his cell at the Mandaue City jail yesterday afternoon.

 Jung In Kwon alias Ryo, 37, single, of Seoul, South Korea, who was temporarily residing in barangay Cabangcalan, Mandaue City, was found dead by fellow inmate Jason Roble at around 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

 Jung, with a shoelace around his neck, was found hanging from an iron grill.

 Police said his girlfriend, a Filipino, visited Jung before lunchtime yesterday. 

 He was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.

Jung was brought to the Mandaue City jail in October 19, 2009 after he and another Korean national was charged with qualified trafficking in person. – THE FREEMAN
