Ex-Cebu governor slams LP

CEBU, Philippines - Former Cebu Governor and Senator Rene Espina yesterday disclosed what he described as “decays” and “misdoings” of the Liberal Party, especially by the Aquinos, during his time in public office.

During yesterday’s “Tapok-tapok sa KIA,” Espina alleged the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) was formed at the Hacienda Luisita, a 6435-hectare plantation estate in Tarlac owned by the Cojuangco family.

Referring to the late Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Espina added, “to Ninoy… ug duna’y mga NPA, kabalo ko asa na sila napundok, didto na sa Hacienda Luisita… kinsa ba to’s Bernabe Buscayno, driver sa mga Aquino… kinsa’y instructor sa Political Science, si Jose Maria Sison?”

Espina also made mention of the Plaza Miranda bombing, which reportedly destroyed the reputation of Nacionalista Party candidates after they were accused of being behind the incident. NP candidates lost in their bid for senators at that time.

Espina said it was actually the CPP-NPA that was allegedly behind the bombing.

“Diha ang tanang mga dagko sa Liberal Party… basaha ninyo ang libro ni Jovito Salonga,” Espina said.

Hitting on LP presidential bet Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, Espina alleged the senator never did anything to address the situation.

Himself a member of NP, Espina said he is endorsing Villar for president because of the latter’s qualifications, but called on voters to instead choose Lakas-Kampi-CMD bet Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro if they would not vote for Villar.

“Ayaw lang gyud tawun ng partido sa liberal… ang labing maayong kandidato mao’y atong pilion. Dili lang gamiton ang kasing-kasing, gamiton unta ang utok,” he said.

“Ang mga Cebuano nga utokan, hatagan nato’g higayon… dili porke anak ka og promenenteng tawo kay mao na pud sad ang padaogon,” he added.  – THE FREEMAN
