NP says Noynoy can't stop family influence if he wins
CEBU, Philippines - Liberal Party presidential bet Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III allegedly can’t stop his relatives from spreading their “influence big time” if he wins as president, said Nacionalista Party Spokesman and senatorial aspirant Gilbert Remulla.
“If we are to look and believe at how the Cojuangco-Aquino Kamag Anak Inc. operated during the incumbency of President Cory, we will come to the conclusion that they really bled dry the Cory administration for what its worth,” Remulla said in a statement.
He said among the issues attributed to the so-called “Kamag Anak Inc.” include Aquino’s BSA Security Agency and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Superhighway (SCTEX).
Remulla said it should be emphasized that Aquino is already a part of “Kamag-Anak Inc.” because his security agency was allegedly a direct move to land contracts with government through security contracts of government agencies.
This is reportedly the reason why even respected EDSA revolution icons Don Chino Roces and Jaime Cardinal Sin lambasted the Kamag-Anak Inc.
"Cardinal Sin and Don Chino Roces, two EDSA revolution heroes we admired, even went on to lambast the Kamag-Anak Inc. We cannot let this happen again. A Noynoy Presidency is a Kamag-Anak Inc. part 2. We have had enough of this blatant show of power tripping," Remulla said.
Meanwhile, at the other side of the fence, senatorial candidate Kit Tatad yesterday claimed that the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino of former president Joseph Estrada is the only face of genuine opposition, especially with persistent rumors of the “Villaroyo” and “Gloriaquino” alliances.
“Ang tunay na opposition ay si Erap…all the others, nagpapanggap lang, ay talagang parte pa rin ng administration,” Tatad said in a press conference at the Cebu Midtown Hotel yesterday.
“Ang iba, maaring merong arrangement with people of the administration pero gusto din nilang makilala rin na opposition,” Tatad added.
The press conference was also attended by Estrada’s son John Victor “JV” Ejercito; Anne Binay, daughter of vice presidential aspirant Jejomar Binay; and Rica Plaza and Shermaine Lozada, daughters of senatorial candidates Oplan Plaza and Jun Lozada.
Ejercito alleged Aquino and Nacionalista Party presidential bet Manuel “Manny” Villar were part of the conspiracy in 2001 that installed President Gloria Arroyo in power.
“So how can both say that they are in the opposition right now?” Ejercito said.
Ejercito admitted they lack local leaders to campaign for the Estrada-Binay tandem, but said they remain confident that the tandem would make it through. Ejercito said their strategy is to approach the people directly rather than relying on a local political leader or party.
He said some political leaders would rather prioritize their own campaign than that of their national counterparts.
“It’s a matter of letting the people know that they’re running because everywhere they go, the conversion rate is really high,” Ejercito said.
Reacting on the endorsement of Senator Chiz Escudero for Aquino and Binay, Ejercito said Escudero is but hoping to jump into the bandwagon to prepare for the 2016 presidential elections.
Anne, for her part, said their party appreciates the endorsement, but the same would reportedly not stir the Estrada-Binay tandem. (FREEMAN NEWS)
