CEBU, Philippines - The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has reset its entrance and promotional examinations for May 31 due to the general elections on May 10.

The examinations were previously scheduled for Sunday but the NAPOLCOM had to postpone these considering the re-assignment of some members of Philippine National Police for the elections.

Eduardo Escueta, NAPOLCOM vice chairman and executive officer, signed the memorandum, which resets the examinations.

NAPOLCOM-7 director Homer Mariano Cabaral already sent a memorandum to all PNP provincial and city directors on the matter.

PNP promotional and PNP entrance examinees will report to the same venue (University of Cebu main campus) on May 30 with the same examination permit.

Escueta said the successful examinees of the entrance examination will have the PNP Entrance Eligibility.

The PNP entrance exam is open to civilians with bachelor’s degree and who are not more than 30 years old. Applicants must be at least 1.62 meters tall for male and 1.57 meters for female.

The exam is also a requirement for PNP officers with temporary status as PO1 who wish to have a permanent appointment in the police service.

On the other hand, the promotional exam is open to all police officers, senior police officers, police inspectors and police superintendents.

The period of filing for applications of the examinations started last February 1 and ended on March 15.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
