Anti-Reproductive Health Bill advocates awarded

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Human Life International (HLI) recognized people who fought against the passage of the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill who include top government officials of the country, from Cebu, and other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

During the awarding ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel last Friday night, Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer, HLI president, said that it is already the third time that they are giving such award to the people who had staunchly fought against the approval of the controversial bill.

“We have to give recognition to the people who help us in the battle against the demonic RH Bill,” said Bullecer.

He said they are hoping that the award will serve as a lifetime inspiration for those who will run for any political position.

“These awards will hopefully serve as an inspiration for those who received it and also to those who did not receive any, this will be their guide and inspiration,” he added.

Among those who were recognized were government officials like Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Bohol Governor Erico Aumentado, Cebu City north district Rep. Raul del Mar, Cebu City Councilor Arsenio Pacaña and Cebu third district Rep. Pablo John Garcia.

House Speaker Prospero Nograles, Senator Aquilino Pimentel, partylist Rep. Leonardo Montemayor, Misamis Oriental second district Rep. Herminia Ramiro and former senator Francisco Tatad were also given recognition for making a stand against the RH Bill.

The FREEMAN columnist Valeriano “Bobit” Avila and lawyer Jo Aurea Imbong, together with Dimiao, Bohol councilors Rosa Caga-anan and Sylvia Adamin also received the same recognition from the HLI.

On the other hand, Bullecer said that contraceptives are abortive passers and that “we should save life and our country from these.”

For the time being, Bullecer compares the RH Bill to the mystery of resurrection because their battle against the RH Bill is not yet done and expects the bill to still resurrect but he stressed that they would not allow that they would lose the battle. — Sheila Marie E.
