CEBU, Philippines - A minor landed at the hospital after he was shot by two motorcycle-riding men while he was walking with his friends along the national road of Barangay Sabang, Danao City at 2 a.m. yesterday.
Niño Frank Quijano Entervention, 15, a 3rd year high school and a resident of said barangay identified one of the suspects as certain Junrey.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Danao City policemen, Entervention and his friends were walking from a disco in Sitio Canlingo, Barangay Sabang when the suspects appeared from the back and suddenly shot the victim.
The bullet pierced through the victim’s right shoulder and he was rushed by his friends to Danao City District Hospital.
The suspects immediately fled after the incident and remain at large.
Meanwhile, a laborer has accused his brother-in-law of shooting him while he was eating his supper at South Granada, Boljoon town last Saturday evening.
Fernando Niere,32, resident of the place said his brother-in-law, Gilbert Cinco, 23, shot him for unknown reason while he was eating inside his house for.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his body and is now in stable condition after he was timely rescued by the responding policemen and brought to a hospital in Cebu City.
PO1 Fortunato Batucan told The FREEMAN that they invited the alleged suspect and let him undergo the paraffin test to confirm if he indeed shot the victim. The police are still waiting for the result of the test.
Batucan, however, said they doubt the claim of Niere because they received a lot of complaints against the victim, who would allegedly turn wild and hurt people when he is under the influence of alcohol.
The police are also conducting a deeper investigation into the accusations of Niere against his brother-in-law because at the time that the incident, the whole barangay was in black out and it is impossible for him to identify who shot him.
Batucan said the gunman could be somebody else who has grudge against the victim because of his bad habit everytime he gets drunk. — THE FREEMAN
