House in Tabuelan straffed

CEBU, Philippines - A house was straffed yesterday by unidentified person believed to be armed with a Carbine rifle in the northern town of Tabuelan.

The straffing incident happened at 7:00 o’clock in the evening last Tuesday in barangay Kantubaon. No one was injured during the incident including the house owner, Orlando Menduyos, 47.

Members of the Tabuelan Police Station together with some elements of the 78th Infantry Battalion responded to the alarm after they were informed of the incident by a concerned citizen.

Menduyos told the responding policemen that he did not see the perpetrator as he immediately hid himself inside the house together with his family.

Police investigators recovered nine empty shells and four live bullets of a carbine rifle. The police are still looking into the possible motive of the straffing incident. —   (FREEMAN NEWS)
