CEBU, Philippines – A man was shot dead by an unidentified suspect beside the Museum Sugbo in Barangay Tejero the other night.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim, Judito Pinote, jobless, a resident of the said place, was shot when he was about to step outside his residence. He sustained gunshot wounds on his chest, which caused his instantaneous death. The suspects fled right after shooting the victim.
Pinote was brought to Cebu City Medical Center, but was declared dead on arrival.
Investigating officer SPO4 Alex Dacua said the suspects are believed to be drug dealers at the barangay. One possible motive of the killing was that Pinote was discovered to be the one reporting the drug transactions in the barangay to the police.
Three empty shells of a caliber .45 handgun was recovered from the crime scene during investigation.
Pinote’s remains are now at the Oriental Funeral Homes for post mortem examination. — Mellanie Joy C. Rosales, CNU Intern/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
