Frasco running unopposed but still helping his slate

-

CEBU, Philippines - Liloan Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, who founded the local political party “Democracy for the Independent Liberal Conservative (DILC),” is busy campaigning for his party slate, although he is running for mayor unopposed.

Frasco said he is obliged to campaign for aspirants identified with DILC, the party which is identified with the administration-affiliated One Cebu Party and the Lakas-Kampi-CMD.

“Wala hinoon koy kaatbang pero naa gihapon ko’y kontra, Frasco told The Freeman.

Frasco said all his time and energy will be focused on getting Thelma Jordan, who is running again for vice mayor, and all his councilors, elected.

The mayor also said he will also be busy campaign for the One Cebu Party of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, who is his mother-in-law, and vice gubernatorial candidate, Glen Soco.

The mayor said a “bigger and grander” proclamation rally will be held on Sunday at the Poblacion gymnasium in the afternoon after the blessing of the new Liloan public market.

Frasco said former president Joseph Estrada, through reelectionist Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile, gave P23 million last year as financial help for the construction of the Liloan Public Market.

In Compostela, the local party, One Cebu, will hold this Friday the opening salvo, to be led by mayoralty candidate Joel Quino, who is the incumbent vice mayor. – Garry B. Lao   ( FREEMAN NEWS)
