Nurse drowns while swimming
CEBU, Philippines - A registered nurse drowned while swimming at Sherlock Beach Resort in Barangay Tungkop in Minglanilla Sunday afternoon.
The victim, whose body was recovered floating around 3:45 Sunday afternoon, was identified as Rico Posadas Abella, a resident of Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Based on the report of the Minglanilla Police Station, the victim and his friends went on an outing and were drinking.
Past 3:00 p.m. the victim, who is already drunk, went swimming but minutes later, his friends saw him floating motionless.
PO2 Avelino Selloria and PO2 Francisco Gorosin immediately went to the area and found Abella floating lifeless.
The victim was rushed to Minglanilla District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
