Man kills friend over 'unpaid debt'

CEBU, Philippines - A man while visiting his mother last Monday night in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City was killed allegedly by a friend who allegedly had lent him money.

Leopoldo Napaig Jr., 32, married, and a resident of the place, was allegedly killed by a certain Alex Sultan alias Aniwar, of legal age, also a resident of the place.

PO3 Edmundo Villacora of the Mandaue City Police Station 1 said Napaig was talking with his mother that night when Sultan arrived and shot him on the chest, killing him instantly.

Sultan fled immediately.

Villacora said Sultan shot Napaig for his failure to pay the money he owed Sultan.

Neighbors had alleged that both men were engaged in illegal drugs. – Flor Z. Perolina   (FREEMAN NEWS)
