Motorcyclist falls off bridge
CEBU, Philippines - A 33-year-old man who was travelling on his motorcycle last Wednesday afternoon died after falling off the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu City.
PO1 Romello Adolfo of the Traffic Division of Lapu-Lapu City police office said Richard Antona did not reach the Cortes General Hospital in Mandaue City alive.
Police said Antona was driving towards Lapu-Lapu City and must have overshot the curve, falling below in barangay Pusok.
“Mura’g nag-overshoot ang biktima sa kurbadahon nga bahin sa tulay,” the police said.
The police identified Antona through his voter’s identification card. He was a resident of barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City.
“Mga alas 4:00 sa hapon nadawat namo ang alarma ug naabtan namo nga nagbuy-od sa kalsada kilid nga bahin sa monument ni Marcelo Fernan,” Adolfo said. – Garry B. Lao (FREEMAN NEWS)
