The boy’s mother Chona, in her affidavit, said that her son was taken to the Talisay City District Hospital but was later rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after the doctor referred the boy’s case there.

The boy sustained a deep wound on his side that may have affected one of his kidneys, the doctor’s findings said.

As of this writing, the boy is still confined at the VSMMC as he is continually observed by his attending physician.

Meanwhile, a couple was charged for illegal possession of firearms before the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office yesterday after being arrested in a raid conducted by the Regional Public Safety Management Battalion last February 18.

Armed with a search warrant issued by RTC Branch 10 Judge Soliver Peras, elements of the RPSMB-7 arrested Tiburcio and Josephine Mier in their residence in barangay Bogo, Argao town last February 20 after they confiscated several firearms inside the couple’s home.

The RPSMB-7 was able to confiscate a .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, an improvised shotgun, and an improvised .22 caliber gun.

Inside the conjugal room of the couple, the two magazines and the .45 caliber pistol were found while the two other firearms without serial numbers were hidden under a “nipa” hut.

The arresting officers, in an interview, said that Josephine is the sister of a mayoral candidate of Argao but made it clear that there is no election-related issue on the said raid.
