Nominations for outstanding government workers search open

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Civil Service Commission-7 announces of the nationwide search for the 2010 Outstanding Public Officials and Employees to recognize deserving government workers in their performance of public duties and in dispensing public services.

Three award categories are open: the Lingkod Bayan Award, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Award or the Dangal ng Bayan Award, and the Pag-asa Award.

Those who possess qualifications deserving of recognition can now be nominated. The CSC-7 encourages agencies to start reviewing the performance of officials and employees and send in their nominations to the office of the CSC-7 or its provincial offices. There is no limit to the number of nominees.

Nominations will be accepted until April 15.

The search is in line with the CSC’s advocacy in promoting a culture of excellence by recognizing and rewarding these public exemplars either for outstanding performance, contribution and achievements or for consistent manifestation of exemplary ethical behavior, or for giving pride and glory to the government service for valiantly carrying out their duties with utmost dedication despite odds, and for those who thrive integrity in the midst of temptation.

A cash prize of P100,000 plus automatic promotion and other incentives coming from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo await winners of both the Lingkod Bayan and Dangal ng Bayan awardees.

The CSC Pag-asa Awardees, on the other hand, will receive P50,000 in cash, a gold gilded medallion and a plaque of citation.

Awarding rites for this year’s winners will serve as the centerpiece of the celebration of the 110th Philippine Civil Service anniversary to be held in September.

Nomination forms and the enhanced information guidelines may be secured at any CSC offices nationwide or downloaded from the CSC website: www.csc.gov.ph.

For further inquiries, one is advised to call the CSC-7 Public Assistance and Liaison Division at (032) 414-7488, 414-7676 or 253-9050. — Niña G. Sumacot with PIA-7 report   (FREEMAN NEWS)
