CEBU, Philippines - A buy-bust operation conducted by the Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the city police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency the other night led to the arrest of two women, one of whom authorities have tagged as a “drug queen.”
Arrested was Cheuve Lim, 54, the alleged “drug queen,” and her companion, Edna Flores, 50. Authorities seized one big pack and one medium pack of shabu from Lim and three medium packs of shabu from Flores. The drugs reportedly amounted to P200,000.
Lim, a native of Davao City, resides at barangay Guadalupe while Flores is a resident of Tres de Abril.
The buy-bust operation was conducted in barangay Basak San Nicolas where the poseur buyer handed over P35,000 to the suspects. Lim and Flores were about to go on board their Hyundai car with plate number YEC-809 when they were placed under arrest.
The operation was led by no less than Supt. Paul Labra II, head of IDMB.
City Police Director Patrocinio Comendador said Lim is one of the five remaining drug “personalities” the police are reportedly keeping an eye on. The list, Comendador said, originally contained 10 names, but the others have already been arrested. Lim was reportedly the 10th in the list.
Lim has reportedly been arrested four times in the past, but Comendador said they are not aware how she was able to leave jail, considering that pushing is a non-bailable offense.
Comendador said they are not certain where Lim is getting her supplies, but it is reportedly highly possible that she got them from Mindanao.
Lim denied the allegations, saying they were just visiting a friend to pay her P6,000 that Lim reportedly used for hospitalization. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/JMO (FREEMAN NEWS)
