Woman survives shooting, husband slain
CEBU, Philippines - A man was killed while his wife survived after two unknown men shot them while they were sleeping inside their house in barangay Bogho, Danao City, last Saturday night.
The victim Gillermo Mulato, was shot in the face with the bullet exiting from the left side of his head while his wife Genny was only hit in the right hand and was able to escape.
The police immediately responded but the perpetrators were able to escape.
SPO4 Jose Salingua Jr. of the Danao City Police Office said that personal grudge is one of the possible motives of the assailants. They also surmise the couple, who are natives from Catmon town, are living in that mountain barangay because they are hiding.
Genny is now confined at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center while a follow-up investigation is being conducted by the Danao City Police. — Antoniette T. Parce/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
