Jealous hubby stabs wife who insists on singing in videoke

CEBU, Philippines - A 40-year-old woman who wanted to join in the New Year Eve merriment at a neighbor’s house ended up getting stabbed by her own husband in barangay Damulog, Sogod town.

The woman, identified as Julita Gu-od who works as a household helper, is reportedly in critical condition.

PO1 Tirso Coming, desk officer of the Sogod Police Station, in an interview over dySS Super Radyo said that Allan Gu-od, 49-year-old husband of Julita got jealous after his wife insisted on singing in a videoke at their neighbor’s house.

 It was learned that the two came from a party at the house of Julita’s parents. When she learned of the videoke, she asked permission from Allan to join in the said merriment but her husband refused.

An argument ensued when a fuming mad Julita allegedly threatened her husband that “that would be the last day she would stay with him.”

As Allan already nurtured suspicions that Julita has an affair with another man, he got angry upon hearing the statement and began stabbing his wife with a seven-inch kitchen knife.

Julita who was hit in the abdomen was rushed to the nearest hospital but was transferred to a hospital here in Cebu City because of her critical condition.

 The suspect was then arrested after police officers conducted a follow-up operation.
