British national robbed in Liloan

CEBU, Philippines - A 51-year-old British national was robbed by two unidentified men Tuesday afternoon at a resort in Barangay Jubay, Liloan town.

The victim was identified as William Hurndall, single and temporarily residing in sitio Cogon, Barangay Catarman of the town.

Initial police investigation disclosed that the victim was sitting in a cottage when two men appeared, pulled out a pistol and declared a hold-up.

One of the men even struck the victim with the handgun. The victim did not show resistance and handed over his necklace worth P30,000.

Not contented, the robbers took the victim’s knapsack, which contains P3,000 cash, credit cards, digital camera and important documents, and fled onboard a blue motorcycle.

The victim went to the police to ask for assistance. But elements of Liloan Police Station failed to locate the suspects although they conducting some follow-up operations. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/LPM   (FREEMAN NEWS)
