Edu Manzano movement to be launched next week
CEBU, Philippines - The “Edu Manzano for Vice President Movement” will be launched in Cebu next week following a visit of the actor himself here.
Businessman Antonio Quisumbing said decision to form the movement cropped up after a meeting of 10 friends at a coffee shop in Mandaue City. Now, the movement reportedly has the support of former vice mayors, councilors, and barangay captains.
The movement would reportedly serve as a platform for Manzano to make his plans known to the public.
“Kining atong himoon nga movement, maoy pagpahibawo sa katawhan nato sa Sugbo ug laing mga probinsya sa mga programa ni Edu Manzano,” Quisumbing said.
Quisumbing said the movement intends to reach out to neighboring provinces in Visayas and Mindanao. He said several people in Mindanao have already pledged their support for the group.
Quisumbing said that contrary to public perception, Manzano is not new to public service. Manzano once served vice mayor of Makati City and elected president of all vice mayors in the country. He also sat as member of the unions of local government units in the Philippines.
Quisumbing said those who are interested to support the movement can make their intentions known through the email address [email protected].
