Vehicle used to dump slain Koreans recovered

-

CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation has recovered the vehicle allegedly used to transport the dead bodies of the two Koreans who were found dumped off a cliff in sitio Tres, barangay Uling, Naga, almost two weeks ago.

The Hyundai Tiburon was recovered last Wednesday by the NBI operatives led by investigator Arnel Pura in the shop owned by Crispin Causon Jr. in San Isidro, Talisay City.

The color of the vehicle was already changed from yellow to red. Causon said the vehicle was turned over by Rosalie Flores for repainting because they have an interested buyer.

Aside from the Hyundai Tiburon there were four other vehicles that were turned over to Causon for repainting and display. Flores is the live-in partner of her former Korean business partner whom she only identified as “Sean”.

The NBI was able to secure a search warrant that led to the recovery of the vehicle because of the testimony of a motorcycle-for-hire driver who claimed to have seen when the bodies of Choi Ho Jun, 41, and Yang Soon Suk, 40, were dumped in Uling, Naga.

Regional Trial Court executive judge Meinrado Paredes issued the search warrant.

According to the motorcycle-for-hire driver, whose name is being withheld by The FREEMAN for security reason, he was hanging around a store located along the national highway on the evening of November 14.

He allegedly noticed the two vehicles approaching from the direction of Toledo City. The witness said he could vividly recall that one of the cars was a yellow sports car and did not have plate numbers.

The witness said his attention was glued to the vehicles because they were running very slow and stopped near the cliff.

The witness said he saw two men disembark from the sports vehicle and throw something wrapped in a silver insulator down the cliff.

He said it was to his surprise the following day to hear that two Koreans were found dead in the same area where he saw the sports car stop.

Police investigation showed that Choi and Yang allegedly attempted to blackmail one of the suspects Park Tae Sung, who had a pending swindling case in South Korea.

Park fled from Cebu after the crime but was arrested in Macau by the Hong Kong police. – Fred P. Languido/BRP   (FREEMAN NEWS)
