Cops haul 28 packs of suspected shabu

-

CEBU, Philippines - A man and an alleged member of the third gender were arrested after they were caught in the act of selling suspected shabu in separate incidents here in the city over the weekend.

Mansawi Hadj Osman Decampong, 32, a native of Marawi City in Lanao del Sur but who is currently residing in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City was arrested after 10 small packs and a medium-sized pack of suspected shabu were seized from his possession.

Elements of the Fuente Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation past 7 p.m. last Saturday on P. del Rosario Extension corner Urgello Street, barangay Sambag I and arrested Decampong.

PO2 Marvin Sanson served as the decoy and pretended to buy two small packs of shabu worth P400 from Decampong. The suspect handed over to the policeman the illegal substance and Sanson subsequently arrested him.

Another eight small packs and a medium-sized pack of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspect’s possession after he was frisked.

At the police station, the cop said that the shabu weighed 8.4 grams which is said to be equivalent to approximately more than P50,000.

Sanson said that they already received intelligence information some time ago about the alleged illegal drugs trade of the suspect so that they took action when they chanced upon the suspect.

Sanson said the suspect claimed to be engaged in the illegal drugs trade after the pirated DVD (digital versatile/video disc) copies he was selling on Colon St. were confiscated.

The police charged the suspect for peddling illegal drugs while also conducting further investigation to determine the possible supplier of the suspect.

Meanwhile, an alleged lady-boy was also arrested after caught in the act of selling 17 small packs of suspected shabu shortly past midnight yesterday at the Ayala Access Road in barangay Mabolo.

Josephine Resurreccion was arrested also through a buy-bust operation conducted by the Mabolo Police.

The suspect handed over to a poseur buyer a pack of shabu worth P200 which led to her arrest. Sixteen more packs and cash worth P1,700 believed to be proceeds of the illegal activity were seized from the suspect’s possession.

Resurreccion, who is now temporarily detained at the Mabolo Police detention cell, was also slapped with the same charges for selling illegal drugs. – Niña G. Sumacot/MEEV   (FREEMAN NEWS)
