Insurance collector stabbed dead

CEBU, Philippines - A collector of an insurance plan was stabbed dead by his neighbor last Monday night at Belgium Road, Barangay Suba, Cebu City.

Marlon Ledesma, 37, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital after stabbed twice by Paul Abas over personal grudge that allegedly started several months ago.

Police said that the victim was outside their house for dinner with his family past 8 p.m. when the suspect appeared and without any word, stabbed him several times.

Ledesma was hit on the chest and stomach and was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival. The suspect immediately fled after the incident and is still nowhere to be found.

The wife of the victim alleged that some seven months ago, her husband the suspect had engaged in a heated argument, which the police, are now considering as the motive of the crime. – Niña G. Sumacot/WAB   (FREEMAN NEWS)
