For fear of being sued, Peeping Tom kills self

CEBU, Philippines - Allegedly afraid that he would be charged in court for peeping at his woman neighbor, a 19-year-old man reportedly hanged himself to death in Sitio Tapon, Barangay Baigad, Sta. Fe town.

The body of Jemar Oflaza Mata, a resident of the place, was already on its decomposing stage when found by his relatives last Friday night.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim appeared depressed after the woman he was peeping at threatened to file a case in court against him.

On Tuesday, Joan (not her real name) allegedly caught Mata peeping at her while she was taking a bath naked in the comfort room of their house.

After the incident, Mata was nowhere to be found prompting his relatives to search for him. But they were all shocked when they saw him hanging from a tree in a secluded place several meters away from his house.

Municipal Health Officer of Sta Fe, Dr. Rowena Manalili said that Mata’s body was already on its decomposition stage and is already emitting bad odor.
