Man "robs" gas station of fuel

-

CEBU, Philippines - The police are now conducting a follow-up investigation on the incident involving a gasoline station that was allegedly “robbed” by an unidentified man by having his vehicle’s gasoline tank filled with fuel but refused to pay his bill by pointing a gun at the pump boy before speeding off last Monday afternoon along S. Osmeña St., Cebu City.

Ronald Canezal, 23, supervisor of Auto Gas Station told police at the Waterfront Police Station that the culprit was driving a dirty white colored Hi-Ace Grandia van with plate numbers YFT-678.

Canezal alleged that at 2 p.m., the suspect dropped by their gas station and ordered of the pump boys to fill up his car’s gas tank. After the pump boy complied with the order, the man then asked him to put diesel to two of his plastic containers placed inside the car.

However, when the pump boy was about to demand for the P4,650 payment for the 107 liters of diesel given to the suspect, the latter quickly pulled out a revolver and pointed it against him while saying, “Sorry lang, nagkinahanglan ko og kwarta” and sped towards T. Padilla St.

Concerned taxi drivers who learned of the incident tried to gave chase but the suspect’s vehicle disappeared from their sight at the corner of M.J. Cuenco St. and T. Padilla Ext. in Barangay Tejero.

Policemen from Waterfront Police Station coordinated with the Land Transportation Office-7 for the possible identification of the vehicle’s owner based on its plate numbers.

The pump boy described the robber as about 30 to 35 years old, with a tattoo on his right shoulder, and has several pimple scars on his face. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB   (FREEMAN NEWS)
