Mistaken identity ushers death
CEBU, Philippines - A 38-year-old man died of multiple stab wounds after he was mistaken to be one of those that mauled the suspect during a benefit dance in barangay Tisa, Cebu City.
Investigation revealed that the suspect in the stabbing, Wiliam Gutierrez, lost consciousness after he was mauled by a group of youngsters during the benefit dance past 3am yesterday. When Gutierrez regained consciousness, it was reportedly the victim, Charlie Requina, that he saw first.
Thinking that Requina was among those that mauled him, Gutierrez took the 12-inch knife from his waist and attacked Requina, stabbing him on different parts of his body.
