Woman charged for illegal drugs
CEBU, Philippines - For trying to sneak a pack of suspected shabu into the Cebu City Jail, a 39-year-old woman was charged with drug possession in court yesterday afternoon.
But Nancy Desalago, of A Lopez Street, Calamba, denied that the suspected shabu found in her wallet belonged to her.
Desalago went to the City Jail around 1:45 p.m. on September 27 to visit her boyfriend, Arnel Denolan, who was jailed for illegal drug charges.
Desalago’s uncle, Rogelio “Tatay” Desalago, is also detained at the City Jail on illegal drug charges.
As a standard operating procedure, Desalago was frisked by PO1 Creshiel Sarita and Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) member Jean Lear before entering the jail facility.
Desalago was also asked to turn over her wallet. It was then that a pack of suspected shabu was found stapled to a P100 bill.
Jailguards later arrested her and charged her with violation of Section 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Act. — Jasmin R. Uy/LPM (FREEMAN NEWS)
