Dengue kills two in a week in Apas
CEBU, Philippines - Dengue claimed the lives of two three-year-old children in barangay Apas in under a week. The parents of one of them plan to file charges against doctors at the Cebu City Medical Center.
Apas barangay captain Ramil Ayuman said recent fatalities were a boy from sitio Upper Calvary and another boy from sitio Upper Panabang.
Ayuman said they started conducting massive dengue prevention campaign that includes searching and destroying mosquito breeding sites and spraying places with high risk of mosquito-borne disease.
Further Ayuman advised his constituent to refrain from the wait-and-see attitude in seeking medical treatment for dengue fever.
“If there is anyone from the family that has a fever immediately bring him to the barangay health center for treatment,” Ayuman said.
Delaying treatment for kin with symptoms of dengue fever is more expensive.
Ayuman also said that the family of the three-year-old boy in Upper Calvary plan to file charges against the doctors of CCMC.
He said that the son of Michael Narido was admitted in CCMC for four days and that the finding was only bronchitis pneumonia.
Last Saturday the boy was transferred to the Perpetual Soccour Hospital where it was found out that it is dengue and in the fourth stage already.
