3 'shabu pushers' charged

-

CEBU, Philippines - Three drug suspects who were recently arrested for 200 grams of shabu were charged before the Regional Trial Court yesterday.

Charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165 were Jamal Paute Salic also known as “Paloma,” Aslia Musa also known as “Rhea” and Jabir Sintora Mauga who yielded over P1 million worth of shabu during a buy bust operation last week. Salic was charged for drug peddling while the other two suspects were charged for drug possession.

Before their arrest, the shabu deal was made at an apartelle located along Pleasant Drive in Barangay Kasambagan. The operation was made after months of surveillance work.

During the buy bust operation, PO2 Roy Veloso acted as the police poseur buyer and was supplied with P2,000.

A man came out from the apartelle and waved his hand and then a lesbian and a gay (Musa and Mauga) companion came out of the door and approached Veloso who was waiting inside a vehicle where they tried selling shabu to him.

But after Veloso decline the offer of the two, Paloma, who was the subject of the buy bust operation, approached the undercover policeman and sold to him a big plastic pack of shabu.

It was then that the police arrested Paloma, including the two other suspects inside the apartelle.

Three big packs of shabu seized from the suspects have an estimated street value of P1.2 million.

The “big-time suspects” allegedly get their supplies from Mindanao and have been distributing in Metro Cebu for several years already.

No bail was recommended for their temporary liberty. — Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
