Man suspects alleged gangsters mauled him
CEBU, Philippines - A sales executive of a car store was stabbed on the face allegedly by the store’s human resource officer at around 9 a.m. yesterday at Kia Motors along Gorordo Avenue, barangay Camputhaw, this city.
The victim was Rex Francisco, 28, son of the owner of Fountainhead Bakeshop in Cebu, and resident of barangay Bulacao-Pardo while the suspect was Marvin Pascual, 30, a native of barangay Punta, Ormoc City and a stay-in worker of the store.
According to PO3 Leroy Baguio of the Cebu City Police Homicide Section, the victim was parking his vehicle when the suspect approached him to hand over his salary.
Pascual then asked Francisco as to why the latter challenged him to a fistfight the previous day.
Baguio said that the two were allegedly with other officemates the previous day joking around until the victim allegedly challenged the suspect to a fistfight but that the latter declined.
When the suspect confronted the victim about this, the victim told him to “just forget” the said incident, but moments later, the suspect suddenly stabbed the right side of the face of the victim using an ice pick.
Baguio said there were also graze wounds on the upper and lower part of the left eye of the victim believed to have been sustained during the attack while the victim was defending his self.
Baguio said that the victim who was taken to the Chong Hua Hospital was already in stable condition as of yesterday and that they will possibly file charges for physical injury against the suspect on Tuesday.
However, lawyer Vicente Fernandez II, counsel of the Fountainhead bakery, said that they will file charges for frustrated murder against the suspect.
