Woman charged for "selling" drugs
CEBU, Philippines - The wife of an alleged drug pusher was charged for selling drugs to policemen during a buy bust operation in December last year.
Police have filed charges for violation of section 5 of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug peddling against Merly Borla, a resident of Villagonzalo, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.
According to PO3 Cirilo Rocamora Luague, they conducted a buy bust operation against couple, Felix and Merly Borla when they heard reports on alleged drug operation in their neighborhood.
In the buy bust operation, Luague said that it was Merly who handed to the poseur buyer a packet of shabu weighing 0.02 grams. Felix was arrested but Merly was able to elude arrest.
Felix was also earlier charged for violation of Section 5 of the Dangerous Drugs Act which is already pending before the Regional Trial Court.
Merly, who still remains at large until now, has also been pressed with the same charges after evidences point to her as the one who handed to the police poseur buyer the packet of shabu.
The court has recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the accused couple. — Jasmin R. Uy/WAB (THE FREEMAN)
