Accidental firing hurts 3 persons

CEBU, Philippines - Three persons were injured, one of them a drama talent of a local radio station, when the armored van security escort accidentally fired his shotgun in front of an establishment located along Osmeña Boulevard, Barangay Kalubihan, Cebu City yesterday afternoon.

The victims, Rannie Bodomo, 25, of Ipil-ipil, Barangay Alaska Mambaling and a drama talent of DYHP, and cell phone accessories vendors Charlyn Navaja, 26, and Adonis Abella, 23, were rushed to the nearby Cebu City Medical Center hospital for treatment.

Bodomo sustained gunshot wounds to his both arms and jaw, Navaja was hit in the leg and arm while Abella sustained injury in the arm.

Richard Dela Torre, 28, resident of Wireless, Mandaue City and an employee of ROCA Security Agency was immediately apprehended and detained at Carbon Police Station.

Initial investigation conducted by Carbon police revealed that while Dela Torre was escorting an armored van to get the money from UNITOP, he accidentally fired his shotgun and hit the three victims who were just in the vicinity when the incident happened.

SPO1 Joseph Joy Mandal of Carbon Police Station said they are now preparing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple physical injuries against Dela Torre.
