DAR revamps field officials
CEBU, Philippines - To ensure a fast track implementation of the extended Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the Department of Agrarian Reform Central Visayas recently announced promotions and deployment of officials and division chiefs who shall look over the smooth and fast implementation of their programs.
Regional adjudicator Arnold Arrieta will be leaving his current post to assume the position as officer-in-charge board member III of the DAR Adjudication Board central office in Manila starting September 1.
Then provincial adjudicator Rosalio T. Kintanar of Negros Oriental will take over Arrieta’s previous position as regional adjudicator of DAR-7.
Isagani Yee, who is the Regional Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer (CARPO) for Operations was designated as the OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer I (PARO-I) of DAR Negros Oriental while Dr. Antonio del Socorro will be designated as the OIC PARO-I of Bohol province.
Alex Relova of DAR Bohol provincial office will take over del Socorro’s post as Regional CARPO for Support Services.
Then Regional CARPO for Planning Division Paulino Tudlasan will be reassigned as PARO-I of DAR Cebu Province. He will take place of Roberto Bajenting who has just retired.
DAR-7 director Rodolfo T. Inson emphasized that accomplishments of the targets of CARPER to fully distribute and complete land distribution within the five year extension of CARP is the prime consideration in the movement or deployment of officials.
Inson said that the main purpose is to uplift the lives of the farmer beneficiaries as well as to add more farmer beneficiaries who need government assistance to own a land they could farm.
He is optimistic that the implementation of the CARPER in the region is in place and believes that it will accomplish its targets as scheduled.
As of June this year, DAR-7 still has a total land acquisition and distribution balance of 56, 711 hectares to be distributed until 2014.
Inson also announced that more front liners especially Municipal Agrarian Reform Officers will be deployed in areas where their services will be needed.
The extended CARP which is now CARPER of CARP with reforms was signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on August 7. The law allowed for the extension of CARP for five years, allotting P150 million funding for its programs. — Jessica Ann R. Pareja/WAB
