Teacher dies of electrocution

-

CEBU, Philippines - A 32-year-old public teacher died after she was electrocuted while transferring an extension wire inside her house in barangay Bahada, San Remigio dawn last Monday.

The victim was identified as Joane Pedroza Elano, married, a teacher of the San Remigio National High School.

Initial investigation revealed that Elano might have accidentally touched the metal base of the live wire of an extension wire she was transferring, which electrocuted her.

PO2 Yuri Colonia of the San Remigio police said Elano was already dead when policemen responded to the alarm.

“Nagluto ra man siya anang kadlawn, unya iyang gibalhin ang extension wire, iyang nahikapan ang metal base nga kuryente nga buhi, mao nakuryentehan siya,” Colonia said.

Elano would usually wake up early to prepare for school and to prepare breakfast for her family. Her husband works abroad.
