Ruiz appointed district chapter head of LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD

CEBU, Philippines - President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo has appointed Sixth District Representative Nerissa Soon-Ruiz as district chapter chairman of the newly merged LAKAS- Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino – Christian Muslim Democrat.

“Pursuant to the provisions of the Party Constitution and By-Laws and Memorandum Circular No. 2009-001 approved by the National Executive Committee on June 24, 2009, you are hereby appointed District Chapter Chairman of the 6th Congressional District of Cebu,” the appointment reads.

Ruiz’ appointment came after her election as the party’s Interim Vice President for the Visayas last June 8, 2009. The appointment takes effect immediately.

I’ll do my best to discharge my duties and functions to serve this political party,” Ruiz said.

She added it is a “great honor” for her to sit as VP for Visayas of LAKAS-KAMPI-CMD and as district chapter chairman of the 6th Congressional District of Cebu. — Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon/JMO   (THE FREEMAN)
