Guards' spat ends in fistfight, shooting
CEBU, Philippines - An argument between two security guards over alleged “bad attitude” resulted in a fistfight and later in a shooting that caused one of them to land at the hospital due to a gunshot would in the chest.
The incident happened at 7 p.m. last Saturday on President Laurel Street, Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City where Elizar Sagayno, 23, and Juan Estardo, 53, are assigned as security guards of Musse Sports International Corporation.

At the height of their verbal tussle, Estardo, a native of Lanao del Norte, claimed Sagayno punched him on the left eye, bruising it. He further claimed that Sagayno successively delivered blows at him that prompted him pull out his firearm and shot the victim.
“Tan-aw nako kay mapildi na man ko, mao ‘to nga mibunot na lang ko sa ako pusil,” said Estardo.
But Sagayno, who hails from Ginatilan town, also alleged that while he was still at his post, the suspect’s wife, Rosalinda, approached him and asked for his share for the payment of the electric bill of their bunk house.
He allegedly answered Rosalinda that he would give the money later after his duty but around 7 p.m., the suspect suddenly came carrying a .38 caliber firearm and shot him to his chest.
